Following a (slightly longer than planned) Summer break, we’ve decided to restore this project with a number of different initiatives.

First off, this website is getting a lick of paint along with some fresh and regular content to outline our plans. Be sure to keep one eye on the blog or, if you prefer, our @ProgressingUK Twitter account for updates. (Feel free to say hello and ask any questions you may have.)

Secondly, we are ramping up our app we started developing back in 2014 with a number of teachers focused on personal development. This is a touch-friendly application with a mobile-first approach, suitable for the modern teacher adopting digital technologies where possible.

Finally, we have some training programmes in development to teach the foundations of coding websites with our selection of Web 101 courses. These have been refined over the past few years along with our web professionals who have been delivering the content to Prince’s Trust students.

Our Open Strategy

We are now sharing our organisation roadmap publicly on Trello.

We believe in an open strategy to our ongoing efforts, allowing others to see what we have planned for the future and how that might be delivered. We encourage others to contribute and help shape the way we deliver our strategy, what is important to the education sector, and how technology can help to influence that. Combined together, “edtech” is something we can all embrace and support generations of learners.

The open-source community for software development is giving away a huge pack of free tools for people in education with more than 21 partners on board.

Teach Mugs

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we setup an online store to sell funny mugs for teachers.

Whilst the majority of the UK public were placed in lockdown working remotely (if at all), our teachers continued to provide education to key workers children at serious times then the rest of school students when lockdown was eased.

To support teachers in risky environments, we realised it would help for them to have uniquely identifiable mugs to distinguish among others in the staff room. With some silly messages on each design, it also adds some much needed laughter to raise spirits during tough times.

The first design was our "Keep your COVID hands off my mug", followed by "Gold star for me". Eight more designs were added to the series of ten which were released for the Black Friday 2020 sales.

To reduce costs, the original store was migrated from Shopify to Etsy marketplace in early 2021 - a huge global community where potential customers are able to order their own mugs and share with friends. We've also setup Facebook and Instagram accounts where we can engage and reshare customers own photos and ideas.
